Default customiser tabs using default settings.

There are 5 default customiser tabs in Hestia theme. These use typical WordPress default settings.

In site identity, you add a logo, site title, tagline and site icon.

Footer options are not customisable in the free version of Hestia. You get 3 widget areas, using them is optional.

In the menus tab you build menus in the standard WordPress way.

The homepage settings tab lets you select the homepage content, and blog listing page.

And, the Additional CSS tab is a text entry box where you can type or paste your own custom CSS.

Get to know the customiser.

Several of the other tabs in Hestia have many sub tabs. I recommend you click around and get to know the customiser settings and options.

Most of Hestia’s power comes from the customiser. You also have the option, in the page and post editor, to override the sidebar setting for specific pages and posts.

And when building landing pages, you might want to use the post and page editor’s disable navigation and disable footer options.

Hestia front page, patterns, and unique block settings.

As well as the customiser options, Hestia has three other big options.

The front page.

Hestia comes with a ready made, easy to customise front page. You find these settings in the customiser under the Front Page Sections tab.

Patterns or page sections.

Hestia has 14 patterns, which include a call to action box, testimonial layouts and image and text layouts. You can insert these ready made page sections into any page or post to really make your page content look great.

Unique block settings.

Hestia improves upon the default WordPress (Gutenberg) content blocks. I find the extra spacing options Hestia provides to be especially useful.
