Front Page Sections.

The front page sections of Hestia WordPress theme is a prebuilt layout. All you need to do is replace the example text and images with your own text and images. You do this via a set of easy to use text entry boxes.

The front page of your Hestia website is divided into sections which you edit individually. This makes it easier to set up, because you concentrate on one small section at a time. Also, you can enable or disable any of these front page sections depending on your needs. For instance, the subscribe section of the front page needs an extra plugin called Brevo, I don’t use Brevo, so I simply tick the eye icon to turn that page section off. (Brevo was originally called Send In Blue.)

You also have the option of disabling all the front page sections and building the homepage yourself from scratch. Or, if your website is a blog and you don’t want a static homepage, you can set the homepage to display your latest blog posts instead of a traditional web page.

Customising the front page of Hestia theme.

The front page is prebuilt from sections, you use text entry boxes to swap the example content for your own.

The front page sections are:

• Big title area.
• About.
• Subscribe (uses the Brevo plugin – instructions).
• Blog.
• Contact.

The Big Title Area.

The big title area is the top of the homepage. You swap the example text and image by going to:

Customizer > Front Page Sections > Big Title Section.

The “About” front page section.

The front page section labeled “About” is special. It takes the content you added to the home page on your website and inserts that page content below the big title area which is the hero section of your front page. You edit that page content in the same way you edit any other web page on your site.

The Subscribe front page section.

This is designed to work with the Brevo customer relationship marketing plugin. I don’t use Brevo and so I don’t use the subscribe front page section. If you use Brevo plugin, you can investigate further via the Theme Isle documentation.

I’ve experimented by placing other content in the “Subscribe” section of the front page, and it worked. However, the “Subscribe” section is designed to work with the Brevo plugin, I don’t use Brevo, so I tick the box to disable this section. Or click the eye icon to turn the section off.

The Blog section of the front page.

The “Blog” front page section draws in the featured image and teaser text from a selection of your most recent posts. You can choose the title, subtitle, and number of posts to display.

Customize > Frontpage Sections > Blog.

The Contact section of the front page.

Customise > Frontpage Settings > Contact.

Use the general settings tab to change the background image for the contact section of the frontpage. You also change the headline and form title here.

Use the pencil icons to open the text editor.

Inserting the form.

WP Forms plugin comes with a ready made form, you paste that forms shortcode here.

Themeisle provides a comprehensive page explaining how to make the form. However, most people just copy the ready made shortcode from their WP Forms plugin and paste it into the box in step 2 of the image above.

DIY homepage designs.

You can disable any front page section. You can also disable the whole prebuilt front page and build the front page using Gutenberg blocks, just like any other page or post. And if your website is a blog with no need for a static front page, you can choose to list only your latest posts on the front page.
